hahahahaha

Okay, so I received a call from my stake president, "The First Presidency let me know that they don't know how to really handle your 'issue.' So they'd like you to get a psychiatric evaluation and then they'll see if they can call you on a mission."

...

Come on! How long does it take to get a friggin' mission call?

wah??? That's crazy. But way to take it in stride. I'm sure you'll pass the "evaluation" but seems like an unnecessary hassle. Luck bud.

Oh wow!!! It is crazy!! I'm sorry!
So.. since u have "ssa" u have to have a psychiatric evaluation... lol... yeah... the first presidency don't know how to deal with "issues" like that... at least I'm glad they tell you the truth....
I think thye should start realizing that there ate A LOT of "ssa mormons" and been more "realistic" about it.

Wouldn't it be nice if the attitudes and acceptance would change? But I'll tell you--it's much better today than it was fifteen years ago. The first pres. wouldn't have asked you to get a psyche evaluation then, they would just have said, "NO!"

I actually had the same exact thing happen to me when I put my papers in back in 1999. And it took two months to get my call. Maybe a little longer. It was agonizing! I feel your pain...

Actually, 15 years ago they did the psych eval and then said no. :) Ok, maybe it was actually 18 years ago, but who's counting?

Sorry you're going through it.

Funny thing is, you're being punished for coming out with it, but if you hadn't, it probably wouldn't have been a problem.

It's like they're telling people not to say anything at all. What a great way to take people who already feel weird about who they are and make them feel even worse... The Church really needs to get it together on this one...
